“The way you taught us was the best way ever
because we actually got to act it out.”
Dean, 4th grader
Arcado Elementary School
When developing programs for the classroom, my goal is to present an active learning experience right in the classroom. I incorporate magic, comedy, puppets, masks, props, music, and the students’ imaginations into my Georgia Common Core Adventures. I have developed guided improvisations, historical reenactments and storytelling activities to give students a memorable learning experience.
I have been a Georgia Council for the Arts Residency Artist, Education Consultant and, Touring Artist since 1988. I was with Young Audiences for 15 years and for the last 21 years, I’ve worked at Circus Camp in Decatur as Program Director. I am also a storyteller, most often appearing as Queen Emeralda. I have led many teacher workshops on incorporating theatre techniques in the classroom.
“Kay’s forte is taking the students’ ideas and their
work and turning it into skits and plays that have
interest and merit and are fun.”
Dr. Judy S. Jackson, Carroll County QUEST Centers
